Workshops
Workshops are $700 per day for up to 25 students. Students may be added for an additional fee of $25.00 per student, per day, up to a maximum of 30 students. The following workshops are presented in a one-day format except for Fusing Fun. Fusing Fun is presented as a 2-day or as a week- long workshop ($600 per day). Inside Stories

Are you a frustrated interior designer? Need at least one room in your home that is neat and inviting? Like a dollhouse in fabric, create a room of your own complete with wallpaper, flooring, furniture and accessories. Learn fusing techniques like free-cutting, collage building, bias fusing, fused weaving, and other textural devices to make your colorful interior setting. Bad Dog! Quilts
Bad Dog quilts are like Sunbonnet Sue quilts only of the canine world. See Spot stand. See him chase the ball. See him get sprayed by a skunk. In this class you create your own dog or cat quilt with colorful fused fabrics and an easy pattern transfer technique. You learn to construct an improvised background for Fido and learn about fusing techniques like free-cutting, collage building, and other textural devices to make a setting for your fabric pet. Dog and cat patterns and a kit of hand-dyed fabrics are provided, just bring kibble. (No sewing machine necessary.) $25 Kit Fee. Supply List.

Garden of Eden
In this tempting class create a small art quilt teeming with every flower in creation. Build a blooming garden on a green base of lush leaves, curly ferns and wavy blades of grass. Add simple daisies, jolly tulips, and colorful chrysanthemums to the mix and you have a garden that Eve would envy. All from colorful fused fabrics. Woodcut Quilts
Adapt the graphic impact of woodcuts to quilt making. Create beautiful woodcut inspired quilts by free cutting fused fabrics in intricate shapes and ironing them on black fabric. Learn free cutting, pattern transfer, and the design secrets of the woodcut quilt. This type of art quilt construction is painstaking and so only one small quilt can be completed in one day. Make an art quilt that is a treat for the eyes! Create an improvisational quilt from bright, fused fabrics by building quick collages from free-cut fabric chips. Learn to arrange the collage blocks into pictorial or abstract designs with simple fusing techniques. Object Lesson
To truly make your own art quilts, begin by designing your own fabric. In this class you will make swatches of colorful fused fabrics like florals, checks, stripes, and dots. Using those fused fabric swatches, you can then create an art quilt illustrating a familiar object. It can be an object of personal meaning such as a teapot, chair, or birdhouse or possibly an abstract collage full of texture and pattern. Either way, it is an original quilt made with original fabric designs. (No sewing machine is needed.)   $20 Kit Fee.

Like a journal or photo album, quilts illustrate the stories of our lives. In this class, capture the essence of your own story and translate it into a fused art quilt. From the simple free-cutting of fabric to adapting your personal sketches or photos, your narrative quilt comes alive. Begin with basic fusing terms and practices then quickly move on to learn the many processes of converting your design source into fabric shapes. Whether your inspiration is an idea in your head, a sketch, or digital photo there is a fusing method to make the construction of your story easy. Fusing Fun: Fast, Fearless Art Quilts
(This is a 4 - 5 Day Workshop or a 2 Day Workshop)

Toss the templates and trash the rulers! Fusing is free form art making at its best. Working with fusible web on fabric, discover fusing techniques like free cutting, strip fusing, confetti collage, playing blocks, and improvisational assemblage. The grand mystery of a woodcut quilt is also revealed. Because fusing is fast and free you quickly invent your own design language to explore. In this class you will create multiple pieces of fun, fast, free, fused fiber art and get loose, really loose. As an added bonus, learn tunes from the Chicago School of Fusing Glee Club and graduate with an advanced degree in Fusology. $20 Kit Fee.
