Not sure what this stitch is really called so I’m calling it the French Fly. It’s made like a Fly Stitch but has a French Knot holding the center of the Fly Stitch in place. Thus the name, French Fly.
Here’s how to make the French Fly: Come up at point A. Insert the needle tip at point B about 1/4’’ away from A. Bring the needle tip up about 1/4’’ from B and midway between A and B at point C. Trap the thread coming out of A under the needle tip at C. Draw the thread through the fabric to make a V shape.
At point C, begin to make a French Knot.
Here’s how to make the French Fly on fabric that is cut with a Pinking blade in the rotary cutter.
Make a French Knot inserting the needle into the fabric on the other side of the thread in the valley. This stitch over the thread holds it in the valley making a V shape that follows the pinked fabric edge adding decorative French Knot at the same time.
