Description:
The glory of fusing is that it is an easy, quick, intuitive way to make artwork. In this workshop explore the many techniques of fusing: free cutting, layering, collage building and more. Each student creates a tiny garden quilt in the morning and a little house quilt in the afternoon. Quilt finishing methods, like the fused binding, are also covered. (No sewing machine is
needed.)
Supplies Participants Should Bring:
- 2 yards of regular weight Wonder-Under fusible web. Please DO NOT BRING HEAT 'N BOND or STEAM A SEAM.
- Sharp scissors like 5" knife blade scissors
- Paper scissors
- Rotary cutters, mat and ruler
- Specialty blades like Pinking, Wavy or Scallop
- Batting, 2 pieces measuring about 12" x 14". Hobbs Heirloom Cotton Batting 80/20 recommended
- Quilt backing fabrics, 2 pieces measuring about 12” x 14"
-Teflon pressing sheet (optional)
- Iron and ironing surface (may be shared with other class members)
- Small plastic bag for fabric scraps
- Tweezers (optional)
$20 Kit Fee: Includes hand out and hand-dyed fabrics.
