Artfabrik: All the colors, all the time.

You will not believe how people use our hand dyed fabrics and threads!

Here are some samples.

Althea Merback of Indiana has used our size 12 pearl cotton thread to knit this tiny little vest she calls the "Tutti Frutti" vest. You can see more of her miniature knitting at Bugknits.com.

This piece was hand stitched by Laura Israel on cotton canvas. She says, "Waterfall III was an exploration in the use of Artfabrik threads, which I had just discovered. I wanted to explore the relationships between different thread thicknesses (#8 and #12) and colorways (degas blue, aquamarine, true blues, and ornamental grasses). The blending of the same threads in different weights and the same weights in different colors
resulted in multiple combinations, moving from darker values to lighter ones across the piece." To see more of her work visit

Ann Curtis dresses her little pup, Quincy, in a custom dyed T-shirt from the Artfabrik dyers.

Quincy favors the Rainbow Rich colorway.

Michelle "Mookie" Pusateri of California writes,

"Artfabrik threads are a staple in my thread pallett. I have used them through the bobbin and in handwork, they are addicting!
Size 8 cotton is yyyuuuu
mmmmyyyyyyyyy.
and less fattening than potatoe chips."

Carrye has made excellent use of the gradations found in hand dyed fabrics in her piece My Perennial Petunias.

After experimenting with different backgrounds she tried the flowers, made in a workshop, on a background of Rainbow Rich Stripey fabric.

She says, "The perverbial lighbulb went off when I tried my flowers on your fabric, WOW did they sparkle!!"

The stripes in this detail of Crescendo by Carol Taylor were made with our custom dyed rayon ribbon floss. The flat ribbon is about 1/8" wide and is couched it to the surface of the fabric.

This is a commission piece that Debra Caserotti made using "Really Red" fabric in a Stripey Texture.

The title of the piece is Sedona and you can see more of her work at

Kim Klocke of Minnesota made this delightful piece from our fabrics. She calls it Two Koko Girls.

Kim took a workshop from Laura through her guild in Rochester, Minnesota in 2002. To see more of her work visit her site:www.FlyingMooseDesigns.com

This lovely wall hanging was created by Moira Watson of Tillicoultry, Scotland. (She was in my "Poultry in Motion" class that I taught in the UK in 2002.)

Moira has used a yard of our Rainbow Medium stripey fabric as a background and placed black fabric on top to form a silhouette.
