thequiltshow2

Me and Ricki Tims.

Do I look a little tense here? Maybe it’s because Ricky Tims of The Quilt Show is strong arming me into giving you something from TQS.

Alex Anderson and Frieda Anderson, the Anderson sisters.

Here we have Alex Anderson begging Frieda to help me out too. What are they asking? They ask that I give away another free 6 month membership to The Quilt Show. So here’s your chance. Leave a comment on why you’d like a free membership and you may be the lucky winner! Please do it fast. I’m feeling a lot of pressure.

We Have Our Winners!

Justin, Ricki, Alex, and me on the set of the quilt show.

And the winners of 6 month memberships to The Quilt Show are:  Suzanne Yerks and Judith Anderson. May you enjoy the Quilt show as much as the rest of us do. And thanks to a lovely reader who donated the memberships. May she live long and prosper!

Free on Friday: TQS

quiltshow2The Free on Friday items this week are donated by a lovely reader. She wants to give away 2 gift certificates to The Quilt Show. These certificates give you a 6 month membership to The Quilt Show where you’ll have access to all the new shows plus lots of other goodies. With your TQS Gift Certificate you can sign on as a full member without presenting any other payment. (Should you win this delightful prize, you will select your membership period and then submit your Gift Certificate number as payment.)

So, if you would like a free 6 month membership to The Quilt Show, please leave a comment on this blog about why you want to join. I’m a member of TQS and love watching all the inspiring people they have on their shows. Hope you win!

Why Did I Join the Quilt Show?

quiltshow2I’ve just renewed my membership to The Quilt Show. Have you? Isn’t it the best online quilt community you can find? I bet I visit the site once a day to check out the daily blog, new classes, newsletters, and quilts. The Quilt Show is a treasury of information.

You can see classes by charming people like Alex Anderson, Ricki Tims, and me!

So why did I renew my membership? Here’s why:

  • Free Classes. Classes by Ricky Tims, Alex Anderson, Libby Lehman, Jan Krentz, and yours truly along with Frieda Anderson can be watched at any time.
  • The Daily Blog. Keep informed of the latest shows, tips from instructors, and new quilting tools. It’s like a gossip column for quilt makers.
  • The Shows. Visit with innovative quilt makers who bring their own special abilities to light. There is so much to learn from how others work and create their art.
  • The Community. There is an online Forum, Block of the Month club, member blogs, and quilt gallery. You meet people from around the world just like you. I hope you’ll become a member too. See you there!

Frieda being herself.

Today Frieda and I appear in another exciting episode of Little Fused Art Quilts on the Quilt Show. This time I’m showing you how to make a woven collage for the little bird’s nest. It is fascinating!

Weaving bias strips. Tedious but worth it.

We had a lot of fun making our Classroom sessions cause we ARE fun. But did you know that there are 17 other Classrooms you can tune into if you are a member of The Quilt Show? There are classes by Jinny Beyer, Jan Krentz, Linda Taylor, Nancy Prince, Alex Anderson, and Ricky Tims just to name a few.

Tweezers help. But it is still tedious!

The more I explore The Quilt Show web site, the more opportunity I see. It is really a rich source of quilt info. Check it out!
