Are You an Internet Putzer?

Betty’s Bloomers #11 with a wrapped binding by Laura Wasilowski

Every once in a while I like to putz around the Internet. Recently, I traveled over to Fave Crafts. They had kindly asked if they could place a link on their quilting pages to my blog. So I kindly offered a link  to my tutorial on making the wrapped binding. (You can kindly see the link here: http://www.favequilts.com/Binding/Making-a-Wrapped-Binding.)

Betty’s Bloomers #17 by Laura Wasilowski (another wrapped binding quilt).

Having a tutorial on their website immediately made me one of their “Quilting Designers”. They even gave me a “Quilting Designer Page“. Too bad they didn’t have a putzing around page so I could be on that one too!

Guest Artist: She’s Mapped Her Pretty Planet

This lovely Pretty Planet quilt is by Ellen. Isn’t this a happy little village? Ellen was taking a watercolor class with Jane LaFazio and her “assignment” was to create a map.  She based her map on my little round quilts called Pretty Planet. (Ellen has made 2 Pretty Planet quilts.)

Pretty Planet #4 by Laura Wasilowski

My Pretty Planet quilts first appeared in the June/July 2010 edition of  Quilting Arts Magazine. So many of you have made Pretty Planet quilts I’m thinking of launching my own solar system!

Why I’m a Little Nervous about Today

Curious George and I are a little nervous.

To my dismay I have a bad habit. My bad habit is that I rely upon my memory rather than a calendar or list.

Here’s an example: I glance at my return flight information and memorize the departure time. Days later I am confident that my flight leaves at 10:30 AM. My flight leaves at 9:10 AM. I miss the flight.

This bad habit of trusting my memory has got to stop! If it doesn’t stop soon I shall become way too familiar with the Dallas/Fort Worth airport. A familiarity I can do without.

That’s why I’m a little nervous about today. Today I have an appointment for an interview with Pat Sloan on American Patchwork & Quilting radio. The live interview begins at 4:00 PM EST. I live in central time so that means 3:00 PM, right? Sure hope I can keep this straight.

If you tune today at this web address you’ll see if I made it. Or if Pat is on the air alone.Wish me luck!
