Housing Department Mystery
For the past month I’ve been hibernating at home and hand stitching new little art quilts like this one, Housing Department #19. While adding embroidery stitches, I think of the residents living in these houses.
They are so mysterious. But I imagine they have really colorful lives.
Or maybe they have cabin fever like me!

Back to Work!
Today I spent a pleasant time with the Prairie Patch Quilt Guild of Mundelein, IL. After my lecture in the morning, they constructed Garden of Eden quilts like this one above. The students came up with some great new flowers and color choices. It makes teaching so much fun to see how imaginative they are!
My next stop? Colorful Quilts in St. Paul, MN. It’ll be great to go somewhere warm for a change.

Celebrate the Studio!
One year ago today my new studio furniture and lighting were installed. This transformation was an act of desperation!
The filming of my first DVD for C&T (called Laura Wasilowski Teaches You Something or Another) was to take place in early February. And my old studio was a pit!
After much sorting, tossing, cleaning, storing, and painting of the space all was prepared for the new stuff. From Tracey’s Tables I received 2 new sewing tables, 2 large quilt storage cabinets, and a raised table for fusing/creating.
Now I work in a bright, clean, welcoming studio perfect for making art and for filming DVD’s.
